I have a 12 foot ACC rod that's pretty front heavy. Does anyone have an established good method for adding weight to the butt to balance them?

I would not want to add weight to the system , can you hold the rod further away from the reel ? I Fish 8 ft and 12 ft rods, on the 8 ft my hand is very close to the reel , with the 12 , I adjust my grip towards the tip to balance the rig.

Yes, I've been moving my grip forward to balance it. That just puts the butt far enough back to bump on the boat sometimes.

I shortened the butt end of my rod for fishing inside barges. I went to BPS and got a weight set that consisted of a set of weights and a rubber cup that attached to the butt of the handle. You just add what weight you need to balance the rod.

Stick on wheel weights work. 1/4 or 1/2 oz increments then wrap it with tape.

The Jenko X Series has a screw in cap on the back with weight discs you can add or take off to help balance it. If I didn't have that I would use the stick on weights.
