Lighthouse for the Blind Lab Services is looking for a knowledgeable, dynamic, and self-motivated Optician to staff our Northside Optical Center located in Lake Worth, TX. Being bilingual is a requirement and only English/Spanish speaking applicants will be considered for the role.
Responsibilities: The optician is responsible for carrying out patient-oriented procedures under the supervision of a supervisor, or optometrist. The optician will assess and interpret the patients needs and wants to be based on prescription requirements, facial features, lifestyle, and occupation to suggest appropriate products that would benefit their overall health. These products are frames, lenses, lens treatments, etc. The optician will take the necessary measurements, educate the patient on the proper care of their glasses, adjust and repair damaged glasses. The optician will also maintain an up-to-date knowledge of available lens and frame products and options.
Qualifications
Optician Skills & Qualifications
• 2-3 years of Optical Dispensing experience is a requirement
• ABO Certification is preferred
• Being bilingual is a must, English/Spanish
• Thorough knowledge of Lensometry and quality inspection procedures
Lighthouse for The Blind offers an excellent benefits package including health/vision/ dental insurance, vacation time, 10 paid holidays, NO nights and NO weekends. Monday through Friday 8-5.
$17 to $20 per hour based on exp. 3 weeks PTO per year.
