Twenty years is a long time so my memory may not be right but I think I got turned on to the TFF by someone fishing Bass Champs.

Just stumbled across the TFF nearly 20 years ago. Not a prolific poster but read several of the sub forums pretty much every day.

So I wouldn't have to talk to my wife.

I originally joined looking for some private water to take my son fishing.

I joined in hopes of learning a little about fishing and to hopefully get to make some friends. I’ve managed to get some pretty good friends and learned a lot.

Joined in 2004. Found it after doing a internet search on Texas Bass Fishing. Bass Fishing Home Page had dwindled down to only a few diehards so started looking for a new website to follow.

I was part of the group that created, planned and held the "Rally at Fork" which was changed the "Rally at Texas" after the bass kill on fork. We held the tournament on Fork and Cooper for a few years. I think the first one was in 1996 and the last one in 2007. They were held on Memorial Day weekend every year. As a result, many others sprang up across the U.S. Rally at Guntersville, "Rally AT the Delta", Rally at Toho" and several others that I can't remember.

Found the hunting forum first. Joined the fishing side a week or two later.

The time spent on TFF versus THF is probably 15/1.

It’s been to long to remember.

The classifieds, I bought a ton of stuff for years before I ever actually signed up. Didn’t even know there was an OT for a long time. I caught Okie hell forever, still do but it doesn’t bother me, I was born and spent half my life in Texas. Some of the best and funniest people I’ve ever met in my life are through the OT.

An eBay ad got me here, bone daddys reviews grabbed my attention, the OT banter kept me coming back

I fished all of my life, both fresh and salt water. When I moved to East Texas my fishing days ended fir a variety of reasons. I had always belonged to two or three fishing forums so I knew the value and enjoyment of being part of a group of fishermen. I joined so I could fish through the experiences of others, view photos, read about the adventures of others and basically enjoy the sport that I have loved for 70 years even though my days have passed.

I was lucky enough to go out on one trip to Tawakoni last February and catch a 35 lb blue, but that may be my ladt hurrah. So, this forum ( and YouTube) allow me to fish from my easy chair. Plus, the Off Topic section is a great discussion area with some pretty good folks
