I have a minnkota endura 30 that I use for my splasher. My group 27 deep cycle battery is done and needing a new battery. I was thinking about ordering 1 of those cheap lithiums off eBay or Amazon . Would a 30ah lithium be sufficient or should I go with a 50ah? 30ah is a lot cheaper. I probably don’t use the splasher more than 5 hours total during a fishing trip.

I can’t find any info on minnkota website about the amp draw on my motor.

Might research what amp rating is on gauge of wire on motor running to battery. Your wire will be rated
for a little more amps than motor should pull at max load/speed. Will give you a ballpark idea anyway. thumb
I usually overkill on battery, as it can serve as a backup when a cranking battery goes" deep 6" on you.

AGM batteries can cost up to $300 however, have a 40 month guarantee. Some of the Gel batteries have 1000 cranking amps. I have one on my Nautic Star that has lasted 9 years. Engine is 150 Yamaha 4 cycle.

Yeah I was looking to save some weight and some money. The 30ah cheap lithiums are cheaper than a 27 deep cycle lead acid.. I don't use my splasher all the time so when I am not using it I usually remove the battery and they get heavy with a bad back.

I was just wondering if anyone had been using the cheap lithiums. If no one else chimes in then I will probably just go back with a 27 deep cycle again.

Haven't seen you in a while but today its your lucky day BB2400. I have the same TM and use a 50ah LiFePO4 and it will run 6 hrs on power of 1. So I did the math and it pulls about 8.5 ah

This LiFePO4 only weighs 10 #, costs $180 and supposed to last me till i croak? If i use it once or twice a week. Lol.

Todd thats the exact info I was looking for. I really appreciate it. Thanks brother.

Yes its been a while. I was catfishing all thru the winter and still been playing with the cats in the shallows to past couple of trips because of the wind. 15-25mph gets pretty nasty on Twok. HAHA. I haven't been able to fish as much as I like due to my sons baseball schedule, but his games are coming to an end pretty soon and plan on being out there a little more.

Next time you see me out there stop and say hi, or I will.
