I was wondering who you would have build your custom rod? KISTLER or Power Tackle or some other company.

I quit Kistler several years ago. IMO overpriced for what you get. and very inconsistent over the years. Seems like every time they made a good rod it was soon changed to a different blank. Judy and Tim are top notch and their latest creation of (The One) is perfect

I ordered a murdered out Power Tackle The One rod today. I’m super excited to try this bad boy out. Build time is 2 weeks.

I have an 03 and 04 The One but I need to get the 4.5 and the 02 for swim baits and smaller stuff. The One is very much a parabolic bending rod so they may feel different at first if you have never caught a fish with them. They built me a custom finesse rod out of their lighter spinning rod blank that I love for wacky worms and other smaller stuff. You name it and they will build it!

Judy thought at would best for light txrig and 6 inch weightless senko.

I’ll take other brands over Kistler. After they swapped blanks few years back, It’s not even close to same feel as the older models.
I need to try a PT rod. Currently love my Dobyns

Power tackle ONE rod-04 and 4.5- that is a very tough rod-I have caught large peacock bass and even large golden dorado with this rod. Caught bunch of 20-50lb golden dorado that destroy tackle using this rod. The rod never failed and held up fine. The parabolic bend is a good thing(for most uses). No shade on the others -I just stick with power tackle since they never let me down.

Gloomis is the money and the high end shimano stuff is also where it's at!
