Live mix sucks, audio sucks, production sucks, coverage sucks… if I wanted to watch 3 guys sit around and yuk it up I could surely find something better. I wanted to watch fishing. Have a live blog for those who want to listen to that drivel. Sucks that I can’t watch quality content from their website, sucks can’t watch all the live coverage without paying a subscription for cable. sucks they want $30 parking to watch take off…NEVER will that happen. Seems to me years ago they lost the panache it once had, and doesn’t look to be righting the ship. Oh well, I’ll just hope for less suck moving forward and then tune out if it sucks. We’ve been saying this for years; If they insist on keeping the Classic in March, it should only happen south of this line. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2023/03/full-30144-177276-89654139_ef11_4409_a545_fca3b84a36ad.jpeg) If you have only one or two flagship events reaching the major networks and possibly a highlight or two on Sportscenter, you don’t want to put the average sports viewer to sleep with drop shotting and jerkbaits. The NBA gets much more viewership than the WNBA because there is dunking and other play above the rim. Nobody wants to watch boring layups and six foot jump shots on the highlight reel.

You are speaking to people that fish. The casual viewer doesn’t know the difference between a drop shot, jerkbait vs power fishing.

Canterbury has 2 fish that weigh 1-8, but he only has 57 minutes to make up 3 pounds. I love a fishing tournament like this where the fishing is tough. But I also like a pitchers duel in Baseball. I also can totally relate to viewers wanting a slugfest. And it would help vierwship.

You are speaking to people that fish. The casual viewer doesn’t know the difference between a drop shot, jerkbait vs power fishing. The average non fisherman viewer would want to see casting and fast reeling with crankbaits and bladed lures; followed by heavy vegetation/timber pitching, then horsing the fish out of cover and running around the boat to lip the fish….and big bass (not a bunch of 2lb rats)
