Has anybody launched a 20 foot there before? I know it has hp restrictions. It would be great to test some stuff out without getting stuck out on a bigger lake. Thank you

Pretty sure I have never seen that there. Not sure it would be a good idea. Is there no place guys can fish in kayaks and canoes without getting run over by 20 foot bass boats and wake board boats?

There are plenty of ramps at Lavon in wind protected areas.

I have launched my 20 foot skeeter there. It’s fine. Launch blows you’ll be pulling in and out getting it on the trailer right.

There is a sign with hp max but I just idle around mostly use trolling motor. Maybe I’ll get a ticket one day who knows.

I visited with a farmersville city council member there last week he didn’t even mention my 19 foot boat , he told me 300 grass carp en route. I’ll be really interested in how that effects that little place. I don’t have a gripe one way or another but it will be an interesting experiment.

I met the TPWD biologist there in Jan '22 that was studying the lake. He said the city wanted to poison the grass. He said it could be controlled with carp if not over stocked. At the recommended rate per acre for grass carp and the amount of grass in that lake, this seems to be reasonable.

300 sounds high for that tiny lake. I’d start with three triploids.

I’ve seen three grass carp wipe out everything in a 50 acre lake in 4 years.

When he said 300 I was a little surprised about it , but indifferent as to if they should or not.

bass boats do it all the time, its usually bad fishermen that spent too much money on a bass boat to still get beat by kayakers and theyre afraid to fish in the wind out of a 20+' boat

Or the 20 year old plus Skeeter that needs maintenance that owner has neglected for years.

Keep us posted on the carp, 300 shouldn't take long to bomb that small lake. Better than spraying???
