I had another fun morning fishing Lake Belton. Birds were working in lots of places and fish were active both deep and shallow. I chased the birds and dead sticked all morning. There were plenty of boats slab fishing and they were catching lots of fish. I used a 1/4 oz. jig and a 4 inch fluke in water that was 53 degrees. I caught 48 white bass, two undersized hybrids, and two nice blue cats. All fish were released for someone's future fun. I found birds working in 70 foot water and marked fish from 35 to 50 feet. This is where I caught the hybrids and the big catfish. It was a great day with light wind and warming temperatures. I spent about 3 hours on the lake and didn't work as hard after I got to 50 fish. These fish looked a lot healthier than the fish I caught a few days before. 45 of the 48 whites were good keepers and they all put up a good fight. As the lake warms up, fishing will improve. None of these fish have moved towards the spawning areas. Pray for rain.

Thanks for the report. I’m thinking of taking my granddaughter to Belton but it’s been a year or so since I’ve been up that way. Is the Lakeview ramp still open.

If you mean the ramp at Frank's Marina, then yes it is open.
