This gun was bought by a friend in 1968. He ordered the gun and when it arrived it was in a wooden box and covered in cosmoline.

This gun was never issued out as far as he can tell.

Matching numbers.. even the magazine. He bought a 40 round box of ammo at the time and still has 15 rounds.

If scope numbers match it could be worth as much as $4000 but for the most part it’s worth what someone will pay for it. Tell him to be careful with it. My 303’s safety quit working. Tracking down the parts to fix it right now.

He says numbers match on scope, magazine, receiver, and bolt.

I thought he was crazy for asking $3500 but now I know better.

Thanks.

I used to buy and trade here: https://www.gunboards.com/forums/the-lee-enfield-forum.55/. Lots of knowledgeable folks there.

Looking at this gun closer I really think it’s been varnished, metal and all. If that’s the case collector value would be much lower.
