If you're not pulling a big boat they're ok for a while. But i'd hesitate pulling anything over about 17 feet. The engine is certainly strong enough to pull it but with such a short wheel base it's more like the boat has control of the car than the other way around.

Max tow rating of only about 3500#. Short wheel base makes for an enjoyable experience when the trailer brakes go out.

Little gas tank and gets maybe 10 mpg while towing. I think I was able to go about 175 miles on a tank.

Towing with a Jeep ... just not a great idea unless you are running around with a pond boss.
Not what Jeeps are for.
Whether you think you can or you can't, you are probably right.

Few years ago my buddy and I were going on few day trip to Rayburn coming Houston. Was pulling an 18 footer with his Jeep TJ. It was floored going over the ship channel bridge on Beltway 8 and only running 25mph. Got to the other side and immediately turned around to get his Ram 1500 LOL.
