I have had this odd weed in my yard for the past three years. It is a small green clump that actually looks like a bunch of chives. It is 6” tall and never spreads or grows larger. It has survivided two major freezes and regular mowing and I can’t for the life if me figure out what it is.

The pic is not the best but hoping someone can wipe some of the stupid from my horticultural knowledge [Linked Image]

pull a couple of the stems and see if they smell like onion.

if they do you have wild onions, excellent on scrambled eggs and baked taters etc.

I actually thought about drying some and smoking it to see if it might make the 75 year old widow next door look better

be sure to dry and mix in some iceberg lettuce and some kale, maybe add a tad of banana peel for the extended buzz. just a thought.

I have an app on my phone called PlantNet that will let you take a pic and it identifies the plant.

Open Google. In the search bar there is a camera icon, click on that and it will open. Take your phone to the weed and get as close as it will let you and then press the button. Google will search and you will have results in a few seconds. This feature has been 95% accurate for myself.

Reality. What a concept!

So, I followed Teeners Boat’s advice and used Google to id the plant/weed. It is either a wild onion or wild garlic ((I will pluck one for the sniff test). Looks like Hopalong gets the prize for best weed guru.
