400 micro grams could kill you….even less in people with low body mass/weight or comorbidities like apnea.
Very potent and short acting. Has a lot of medical utility in tiny 10mcg and 25mcg doses for breakthrough cancer pain and used regularly in the OR in similar micro doses. Particularly helpful in the pediatric ER (again in tiny, tiny doses) as it can be administered without an injection; and because it’s so short acting it has a very low risk for side effects and /or withdrawal in minuscule doses.
