Fishing was rater slow last night. We fished at the mouth of Rocky and caught a lot of small fish. We did catch 5 good keepers. After we ran out of minnows we went bass fishing. The bass were slow with around 12 bass caught up to 2 1/2 #. How did everyone else do?

From where you guys were parked you need to go back farther in to Rocky past the second set of no wake buoys. We had about 25 keepers biggest was 15 inchs. 6 blue cats all between 2 and 4 lbs and had something hit that took my 7 foot spinning rod all the way under the boat and got tangled up in some trees and I got broke off. Also had 4 bass over 2 lbs all on crappie minnows on a crappie jig.
Three of of us in the boat my 7 year old son held up till midnight. We fished till around 2.45 till the wind picked up and slowed the bite down. We went through about 5 dozen minnows in all

That was the first time I have tried that area this year. Last year we could load the boat up on 'em. I know the area you are talking about, but I got one question. Were you anchored up or tied to the trees? I guess I will be back out there again this weekend. Look for me in a Teal and White Champion.

Was anchored up down stream from the current on the side of a point right on a drop off from 14 to 20 foot. We were catching the shallow in the front of the boat early then around mid night they seemed to have moved to the deeper trees on the back of the boat.

I believe that Roy, MyTy1705 and myself will be stalking the elusive pomoxis annularis again on Friday night. Maybe I can steal molossusri's spot. (Just kidding). I am still going to be looking for more new places. My old spot has been good for the last couple of years, but seems to be a little spotty this summer.

I was planning to take my son and his friend tonight. But it looks like there will be storms around and we would be in kayaks. Guess we will have to stick to the crappie house. How crowded has the lake been on friday nights? Havn't been since last year.

Okay so where are the fish at?...lol. Are the fish more likely to be in the pockets or on the points this time of year. West Texas crappie fishing has been somewhat of a challenge. One day I'm happy with the catch, the next it's bad. I am heading out Thursday night for a cat, crappie, bass combo. Hopefully one of those species will hit!
