This will be the first year in 45 years I didn't water ski on my birthday... Hernia surgery kept me off the skis... But I did get out earlier this year... Dan

When I was younger I skied every weekend. I lived in Louisiana. You could always find smooth water. I could barefoot. You don't have to go 50. You can barefoot at 40. I take my 25 year old son skiing when we get a chance. I'd like to do it again but at 73 my body says no.

Used to a lot as a kid. 20 years and 50 pounds ago I could pop right up on a single and ski all day. Now it is like I am being waterboarded for 50 yards before being body slammed down onto concrete.

There are few activities that give you as good of a full-body workout as water skiing. But if you weigh in excess of 200 lbs it sure can hurt getting out of the water.

We used to ski a lot back in the late 70's early 80's, we thought we were pretty good so we entered a slalom competition somewhere in East Texas, it was called the East Texas open, we thought wrong lol, never been on a slalom course , it was fun and we were too young to be embarrassed.

I found it on FB, I'd get on marketplace when I was lying in bed and just scroll. I'd change my location to all over Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas, set my price filter and search, Natique, Mastercraft, Tiga, Supra, Ski Centurion, ect. lots and lots of scrolling. There are some older ski boat groups but the people selling on those are selling for top dollar. By the early 90's most mfg's had gone to fiberglass/composite stringers, they're wood before that so you have to watch for rot on those 80's boats.
