39 today, 17 to 20’of water, in the timber, caught a few on the crappie bomb today. [Linked Image]

You can see em hit the weight above a jig clear as day. So they HAVE to be hitting that little snack.

I really don’t watch the fish bite on the livescope, I have been fishing the same 50 trees for over 20 years that are proven holders of crappie, I simply scan the tree to see if they are there, fish it for maybe 20 minutes max if they are there, then move to the next. Crappie are like cattle grazing thru a pasture feeding, and they constantly move with the shad, in the summer, they set up in the timber, and sit back and ambush the bait as it comes thru, if there’s no bait they will keep moving. some times they are there, sometimes they aren’t. You got to keep moving if you want to fill your livewell. What is frustrating is when you see em, and they just won’t bite. On a bad day you get one fish per tree, and your worn out from lifting that trolling motor over and over. A good tree will put out 5 fish, a great tree can put out 10 or more.
