We started out pretty early meeting at 5 AM to do a ruler check for the boaters fishing in today's tournament. Since we are a "paper club" everyone using the same ruler and measuring the fish the same way is very important to our scorekeeping and reputation.

Our rules call for all members to have and use a "Check-it-Stik" which is done in 1/8" increments. We measure using the closed mouth, pinched tail method.
We aren't talking about a lot of money. They usually run around $20-25 for a 25" model.

Today the winds were primarily light with a slight breeze out if the northeast around 10 AM and water temps starting at 83 down from the 90 we had last week. The lake doesn't appear to be down from last time.

We paid 4 places per team with 2 lunkers.

First place team of Randy Bunch and Randy Whitaker both of Lake Fork with 5 fish for 21.85 LB with a 5.60 LB lunker.

Second place team of Alf Tuggle of Scroggins and Bill Melton of Emory with 5 fish for 18.84 LB with a 5.94 LB lunker.

Third place team of Rudy Hall of Mineola and Gary Gilmore of Ennis with 5 fish for 16.86 LB with the 2nd place lunker of 6.17 LB

Fourth place team of Don Overstreet of Sulphur Springs and Bob Lambert of Lake Fork with 5 fish for 16.66 LB with a 6.05 lunker.

The Team of Dennis Bubinas of Lake Fork and Larry Kelly of Yantis caught the 1st Place lunker of 6.89 LB on a pop-ar with total weight of 16.44 LB.

Including the previous five lunkers another 5.94 was caught for 6 real nice slots. It's what we live for in our little tournaments. All were caught shallow.

The Lake Fork Anglers fish every Thursday daytime year-round. For info call me at 903-440-2797.
