I knew that when I entered my post about this that it would probably turn into an internet food fight.

As soon as everyone wants to post what they do for a living I will consider it but probably still won't participate in that.

Guess all you want and keep the name calling coming-just shows your lack of immaturity!

I won't participate in this thread anymore as this is not a forum but more like a bully session-I'm thick skinned like most folks and can take some personal chaffing. But from folks that don't even know me? Really-what would you first turn too? I'm going to beat your a$$. I'm way to old for that kind of nonsense.

I did serve 21 years in the United States Marine Corps

Have fun with yourselves.

There is no lack of immaturity in the OT.

Well here's the deal, this thread was a simple little social experiment. This story is about 85% made up. Fact is, my lawn guy, who I've personally known since 1992, called and asked if he could come at 6am. I said I preferred he not do that as to not wake up my neighbors, a teacher on summer break on one side and a retired widower on the other. He said cool and said he'd gladly start somewhere else and make it back to my place.

This got me to thinking about stopping the working man or being courteous to neighbors and about which direction some of the level-headed people on this site would lean. Of course, I knew the usual key board cowboys would always chime in as they usually do without thinking anything through. We won't need to name any names as we all know who they are. I made the post and then realized that I had inadvertently altered the direction simply by using the term "Ran off the lawn guy". That was a mistake on my part. My bad. A few observations though -

1. It was funny to see how people changed the narrative to me being inconvenienced and outraged even though I clearly stated I was trying to promote courtesy in my neighborhood. Old PGR didn't like that. I liked his response and having met him and his son, I believe him at his word. Another surprise was how the most level-headed and usually sensible Mark Perry reacted. I think I have told Mark a few times over the years how much I appreciate how his good nature and sensible posts bring a neutrality and calming effect to this place. I was amused by that.

2. Minner Bucket tried one of the funniest and most idiotic methods of changing a thread and that's to paint someone as a liberal when a disagreement starts. Oddly enough, it didn't take with the group but I'm very certain had just one more person latched on to that method, it would've snowballed easily.

3. As usual, a few cowboys get the pack mentality going and have some ugly stuff to say about someone else and get off point.

4. Not as many personal attacks came as I thought there would be. Short of a few "GP is terrible", that area fell short of what I felt it would be.

5. There were alot of sensible, down the middle posts where the guys seemed to see both sides. It's funny because noone ever seems to side with the middle of the road guys. People seemed to pick a side and tear into anyone else against that side. You guys that tried to use some common sense and look at both sides should be proud of yourselves. That's something that we should all practice more before we speak / post.

And all this, 13 pages of people being ugly with people, over a simple made up story!

It's too late for alot of people on here, they are who they are. Let this be a lesson to you newbs though, young and old, don't think that post count and when someone joined makes people trustworthy and worthy of respect and DEFINITELY DON'T believe everything you read in this place.

So basically your whole thread was just an elaborate troll?

Hells Bells, I forgot to mention the Karen aspect. That's a big one everyone like to use now too.

And I certainly wouldn't call it elaborate! It happens here every single day. Just a few key strokes and it takes ono a life of its own.

Wait, so you mean to tell me that if it rains on your horse Bermuda, it grows, but if it doesn’t get rain it goes dormant?!?! That’s the most amazing thing I’ve ever heard.

If you add fertilizer to horse Bermuda during a no rain period, nothing happens. It’s more nuanced. The horse Bermuda sweet spot appears to be adding fertilizer PLUS water.

1) This is not an endorsement as have never tried it Ghost…whoever you are.
2) I maintain my previously requested “No PM’s please” stance S4B.

I stacked 139 bales of horse hay last night. Old Man. Bermuda. I should have called you..... stalker.

Was it horse Bermuda?
