Rob, my nephew and I were there on Thursday and had similar results. Checked a few other places but ended up staying most of the day out at the south part of Pelican Island humps. Bluebird sunny no wind day but the fish were stacked in there. At one point a bunch of birds showed up and were pounding the water. The graph lit up with huge numbers of fish from 10ft to the bottom. Caught over 4 limits of good sized sand bass, a few yellows, a cat and some hybrid. All three of us were hooked up at the same time several times and catching two at a time (fly/slab combo).

Steve, I saw you guys on Pelican late AM on Thursday. We came by there to catch a few more fish before heading in for Burgers and fish cleaning. Every morning around 11AM, the Whites would move into the 35'-40' FOW off the East side of the Point and you would catch some of the larger Whites of the trip suspended in the deep water. Looks like we have a good Hybrid population for 2023 as we probably caught 50 or so twelve-inch fish every outing last week. Good Luck and Good Fishing!

Yes, but mostly for Catfish. I fished two days last week and the customers loaded the ice chest with Blues and Channels. On one day, we spent about an hour looking for Whites and caught a few on Humps and Points in 25'-35' FOW. The Whites are hugging the bottom and scattered. Not big schools like they were in December. Cool Fronts have lowered the water temp from 60 degrees to 54 degrees and that was before the Polar Blast on Saturday. Probably be Spring before the action returns to really good!

Wow!!! It was a chilly 26 degrees when we got on the water this morning (Monday, MLK Day). Water temp had cooled to 53 degrees, Full Moon and pretty much a slick Lake. All the ingredients for a really tough day, but the fish didn't think so. It was close to Deadsticking but still a bite you could detect. Most fish caught on or near the bottom in 25'-30' FOW on Humps. Nothing but a thin trail or dots on the bottom and thumping didn't really get them going. We finished the morning with 35 Large Whites and 15 Eater Cats. Adam had about the same in his boat. When we finished cleaning fish it was almost 66 degrees. What a temperature swing in a Half Day!
