Water is up into the Spillway parking lot and they have a "DO NOT ENTER" sign at the entrance to it!

There was quiet a few people down below the dam fishin...

might have to figure out the whole thing! and take up fishin from bank!

No offense to present company, but here are several hundred guides and regular fishermen who are affected by this water level also. Not to count the cancelled reservations for lodging. I have alread rescheduled my bookings for the next 3 weeks...joebear

Whats your point ? I realize alot of people everywhere are being effected.. but Im confused about your post.. First of all there are not hundreds of guides on Texoma. There are maybe a handfull of "real" guides of which JD is one of the best, And then a couple hundred wannabees.

So what was the point you were making ? JD started this post so yes this was mostly about him. Is that offensive to you ?

Thanks for the report and info. on the boat ramps. This is really bad for the people around the lake as this week is the biggest of the year.

I wasn't around in 1990, but I talked with some older/wiser members of our bass club (one had been around for both the '57 flood and the '90 flood) and they feared the lake might go over the spillway. It seems that the corp keeps raising the crest level everyday and we keep getting rain storms. It was forecasted this morning that it will rain all next week. We have had to postpone our night tournament scheduled on July 14-15 to a later date because it will be too dangerous even then. They also said that they have never shut the ramp down at Highport(at this lake level), but the Game Warden asked them to close the ramp for fear that someone might try water ski next week with all of the floating debris. Be really careful if you can find a place to launch.

We drove to the dam and spillway area this morning and two boats had launched from the parking lot of the spillway ramp. When we were leaving the game warden was turning into the area. I do not know if he cited them for an illegal launch or not.

There is Game Wardens all over the lake...

They have brought the airboat up here and...THEY WILL CATCH YOU if they catch you doing something you shouldn't...

I have to launch my boat and from my knowledge there isn't a place for me to launch right now...

As COE have said...PLEASE DON'T GO AROUND THE BARACADES!

My friends are the recovery divers for the Texas side and have been told to be on stand by...and they are actually doing a dive right now!

Please be careful out there if you do get on the water!

I hate to hear that Whiskey. People just do not understand the debris that can come into the lake from the rivers running this hard. You get out in a boat with the lake fairly empty you think you can go WOT but there are some floating logs that are an inch or so under the surface. They will eat your boat up in half a second.

The game warden was driving like he was on a mission when he turned off 91 going toward the spillway ramp. My philosophy has always been if you do the right thing and do not do anything illegal then you do not have to worry and look over your shoulder to see if anyone is watching you.

Gee, I cannot believe how fast the lake is coming up today. It will come up two feet today alone here in another two or three hours.

Texoma is expected to crest on July 9th at 639.32 with no more rain...and it rained last night!
