Insurance companies have the best statisticians and mathematicians in the world working for them.
If their math calculates that unvaccinated employees are $200 per month more expensive to hedge against statistically significant higher risk for health care costs, that is the best argument for the vaccine I've seen.

They’ll never be able to force people to get vaccinated... but they are sure trying to make life tough on folks that don’t. SB 968 goes into effect September 1st, it’s supposed to protect Texans from “vaccine passports” being required, yet I see companies in Texas mandating vaccination? Sounds like a bunch of stuff that’s going to be tied up in courts for a while.

Supreme Court of Texas has the jurisdiction (not federal)
Here's the Texas mandated vaccines for child care facilities, including schools.

Does anyone have any insight into who's paying the Covid medical bills for those without insurance? or what it costs to spend a couple of weeks in the ICU?

Ballpark number for first day in the ICU on a ventilator is $10K. Subsequent days on a ventilator $5K per day
First day in the ICU not on a ventilator ballpark number is $6K. Subsequent days not on a ventilator $3K per day

Agree with the comment above regarding insurance companies understanding the math of the situation.

If you don't like the employer raising your health insurance premium (or anything else), just move on to the next employer as you have the option to work anywhere you please.

My life insurance rates are higher if I'm a tobacco user and as I get older frown

If you are in a higher risk pool, but don't want to pay the higher price to service that risk pool, then you are looking to offset your costs off on other people that don't share the same risk as you.

Someone against all forms of socialism, I'd think, would want to be responsible for their own expenses.
