We almost bought a place on Texoma, but ended up on Bob Sandlin. Having our own dock was a major factor.

The solution to any problem - work, love, money, whatever - is to go fishing, and the worse the problem, the longer the trip should be. --John Gierach

We built a house on Fork last year and love it. I have noticed it’s making me want to back off tournaments some and fun fish more. I guess spending time on your land and place becomes a bigger priority.

PK if you have 200 million stashed back, and Amistad not on the water, some are 3-400 ft above at box canyon fish

We love living on Ray Roberts, the ONLY down side is no dock. On the other hand we also count that an upside as dockable water means more people and we love the solitude. For a dockable lake, I love Bridgeport, Sandlin, Toledo, Athens, Fork, or basically pick your small lake over there in that Fork part of the world, they are all beautiful!

See you on the lake and have a great day!

If they ever develop Monty, that's where I'm buying. Hoping when I retire in 5 years the lake will be starting to be being developed.

Man a home on that little piece of land in the park where one side of your house was Monti and the other Sandlin, that would be awesome!

Yep, we would be neighbors.
I have a list of rules that I’ll send via pm

Honestly, I haven't fished enough lakes around here to provide input. But I can say I'm lucky enough to live minutes from Ray Bob. So I'll say that's my choice for now.

Rayburn even though the no-dock thing sucks. TB but not main lake also.

Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.

There are some really good private lakes as well that close to multiple public lakes around North and East TX. Some have access restrictions, but not many that are too bad. Building on a Fork lot (can be hard to come by right now) and some house deals are hard to beat right now for the serious fisherman. Once the house is built you're getting a lot of bang for your buck once complete.. If you build reasonably for price per sqft.

Just sold a small place on Lake Cypress Springs and bought a larger home there for a full time residence. It is first a very social lake with lots or weekenders. Fishing can be good and it is located within an hour to fork, Sandlin, Welch, LOP, Gilmer and any others. Unfortunately the cost on the lake has gone sky high.
