Its not like its a bass fishing mecca anywhere. Grew up there. Its not the best state to catch bass in. And your point ? I grew up there all so, I'm not going to drive 1000 miles to bass fish there, when I can drive 1/2 to 1 1/2 hours to catch fish up to 10#! A friend of mine caught a 15.50# fish yesterday 2 1/2 hrs north of here....

So I guess if it branches out to include Texas it will affect more than a few measly tournament fisherman. May not be a "bass fishing destination" to someone of your caliber but to many its all they have.
Just for my info.. where you once or still a FF ? We all have different opinions. Everyone will never agree. Whether I am a FF or not has zero impact on my opinion of fishing in NM. Currently I'm sitting here between calls trying not to catch a 14 day quarantine.

Having different opinions is one thing I'll agree with you. Sometimes there better left to one self. As for the FF question -- making positive you are who I thought.

I just can't see getting too upset over a short time loss of tournaments. The greater health of everyone has to take priority now. I am concerned for those that will be impacted health wise or financially by all of this more than I am my loss of fishing time. BTW...I love NM....just not the bass fishing there.

Talk like your running for a political position. BTW... I love Texas โฆ. but do like to fish Ute, Conchas, and Navajo.. Have had many 75 fish days with smallies up to 6 Lbs and blacks to 8. For the record the first tournament I ever won was on the Butte. The year after Dennis Hoy won the last BASS invitational to be held there. No doubt before your time... it actually was a "bass fishing destination"

If all I lose is some days on the water in a tournament or two I will be happy. Just trying to think of others who will not be so lucky. Hoy winniing there was not before my time...if I recall he also made spinnerbaits or lures he sold there around the lake. If I recall he got a lure from a Japanese coangler that helped him win the deal. The footage is still up on Youtube of his win.

"Reaslistic" โฆ... Really !. Point being I doubt it will affect more than a couple hundred people if that So you think shutting down one lake for a few tournaments by people who're there of the own free will have any effect on said participants chance of catching the corona virus ?? You figure a state would shut down Vegas or the ski slopes or the restaurants long before an outdoor fishing tournament. Now thats being "realistic" Dennis was given the winning bait by his 1st day co.. (78 Pointer) also designed and sold some plastics among other baits.. Wish I had some of his Devil claws. Think you missed your calling โฆ reading your stuff figure you might be kissing babies and shaking hands soon.

If more lakes or other forms of entertainment are shutdown due to the virus, itโs going to get even more testy on the forum. Letโs try to keep it civil (not that this thread hasnโt been) and respect opinions of others before things get too heated. Thanks.

Just trying to think of others who will not be so lucky. So which is it. Go back and look at the date stamps of those posts. Did you forsee the panic a couple of days ago?.Probably not. The panic here has been worse than the virus so far. Did you picture TP gone etc. Probably not. I still say its gonna be less impactful healthwise regarding casualties as I did before. Now there is a financial fallout the panic induced. That being said your drawers are in a knot cause you might miss a tournament...hate that for you but not gonna sit here and argue if you should be allowed to fish it or not. I personally may not agree with every action taken but I am not gonna complain when others due to the panic may end up in bad situation worse than me just missing some fishing. Hope your week gets better. Probably best we just agree to disagree and move on.
