This is exactly what happens for at least some of the tournaments on Lake Houston. All the fish are released at the Marina. The biggest issue is that the bank\pier fisher folks lay in wait with cork and minnows. And these are exactly our C&R type.

Tim:

A guy has to do what a guy has to do to catch a fish nowadays. Competition is fierce out there.

easymoney you nailed this one guy.Larry is as good a man is there is. I gaurrantee you that if I was a dock owner and I didnt want anyone to fish around my dock,I could put hogwire all the way around my dock from the deck to the waters edge and there is not a damn thing any of the lawmasters such as yourselves can do about it.Thats what you guys making negative comments dont get.For the most part 90% of the dockowners could care less if you fish thier docks. The other 10% it dont matter what they think, but they can make it near impossible to flip, pitch or skip baits. If you guys making all these negative comments about dock owners would just quit acting like your king kong and you can do whatever you want and just talk to them like they are human, you would probably get some pretty good info from them about what they have under the docks and where and even whats between the next dock and thiers

If I am reading this correctly there were more people saying that Larry was a great guy and all that than there were dogging him, and even more posts about people complaining about people getting on him for no reason.

Larry,
I am sure I have fished your dock a number of times and may have caught fish off of it a time or two. Let me assure you that there are a number of docks on EM that hold fish. When an angler figures out which ones do, they generally return time and time again. The reason for that is that you have created a fish habitat that is very desirable to the resident fish in the area and all anglers know that the dock will replenish and quickly. Which is why I am sure you have seen more than one angler go by, not get a bite and the next guy come in and catch a couple of fish. I understand and see your point but it is not economically feasible to do that but if you ever want fish transported to your dock I would be happy to do it. I just don't know which one it is so I will have to guess. Good luck and good fishing.

Well I've had several homeowners tell me to get away from their dock its private property like they own the water underneath it.Which is not true at all.

I have an easy solution to your problem. Our club uses a paperfish system. We catch the fish(hopefully), measure the fish, and weigh the fish. We write down the information and the fish goes back into the lake. Then the fish is not moved nor are we trying to keep them alive in inadequate livewells.

Our club is small and we fish two to a boat so there is a witness to the catch and so on. But yes, it is a big trust factor. Haven't had any cheaters yet.

Wanna get around it?

There is a rule in a lot of tournaments "No fishing 50 feet from gas pump"

Go buy yourself a gas pump (not hooked up of course) put it on your dock with a big sign.

See what happens laugh

Way to go, Larry! Keep up the good work! I'm not a tourney fisherman, but I would like to know where this wonderful lake is.

The fishing on any lake would be a lot better if more dock owners were like Texas Husker. Any cover/attractant benefits a lot of different species of fish in a lake. Instead of bad mouthing him, we should be thanking him for his efforts. I live on EM and don't know which dock or cove he lives on. I do know that there are very few docks with cover now. When I first moved out here 30 years ago a lot of docks had cover and the fishing was a lot better because of it.
