Where is the best place to look for a new pontoon boat ?

Very close to where you store or keep your boat...if you are buying new. Things will go wrong, and you want to be close to the dealer,
and for periodic maintenance.

R&R Marine carries Sylvan. I was in there looking at them yesterday. Very nice toons!

Fun-N-Sun Boats and Tackle in Hurst carries Avalon and Manitou pontoon boats. I have a 20' Avalon fishing model and love it. Checkout their website . If you're willing to travel a bit I recommend Texas Marine in Conroe. They are having good end of year closeout prices. Good luck.
