So my 2011 Coastline trailer i bought earlier this year has significant rusting and i need to replace the axle
Any recommendation on where to buy one or where to have it replaced? Is it worth it to do it myself? Can i do it myself?
Single axle, no brakes, v-bend in the middle.
Also, should i go with galvanized? painted? other? This will be used primarily for saltwater
thanks!

If at all possible I would make the trip down south and let Coast Line do the repairs. After repairs are made, coat the entire axle and hubs with grease and let the dirt and grime build up. Do this multiple time until you have a good thick layer of dirt grease and grime on everything that can rust. Never clean it off and your new axle will last a long time. Motor Cycle chain lube works well for this due to being sticky and easy to apply.

With the proper parts this is an easy DIY project. I replaced several leaf springs on my OKT trailer both with and without the boat on the trailer. Just make just you get the proper carrying capacity for the axle and leafs. I learned that not all 4 leaf springs are equal. I was at Texoma and heard a dink dink coming up the ramp. Broke a leaf and ran back to Rockwall to pick one up. Stopped in a trailer place and said I need a 4 leaf double eye 25-1/2. Dude said sure. Within a month that spring was flat.

Galvanized, not painted. Once a painted trailer hits the salt a slow death begins.

Looks like it should be relatively easy to do. 4 bolts, no leaf springs, just have to find a place to get an axle like mine now.
Has the V-shape on the bottom, then the spindles are offset from the axle. not having luck finding one online yet

Not finding what i need on Northern Tool's website at least. Needing a Galvanized Torsion Axle with a 'V' in the middle. I am assuming it is a 3500 lb axle, but could be a 2000 lb i guess

I got one...new axle, tires and wheels can go with it. 3500# Torsion bar axle. It's still mounted on the trailer. The trailer was an EZ Loader with bunk skids......rear cross member is new, I say both is new...they just haven't been near the water in a long time. I have a brand new front cross member under the carport that was never mounted . The other one is shot. Over $600 value for only $250. You have to take the parts off yourself. ( Ed......77563 ) PM Near Galveston Parts are Galvanized too. PS: Tires are not new. Been setting for a good while but good tread. I bought a twin axle aluminum trl. 2 years ago. A 20' Wellcraft sat on the old trl.
