The Ray Hubbard Bass Club held our third members only tournament last Saturday, May 11th on Lake Bob Sandlin. We fished in a cold steady rain all day. Luckily, no other major weather problems came along. 39 boats came out to fish and were rewarded by biting bass for most! 28 of the 39 entered weighed five fish limits. When all was said and done, defending Anglers of the Year Vince Burt and Mark Werner lapped the field with a tremendous five fish limit weighing 26.87 pounds! Their margin of victory was over 10 pounds. Big bass of the event went to the team of Derek Sullivan and Maurice Williams who weighed a 7.56 toad. Here are full results and pictures. I apologize for the quality on a few of the pictures. The camera got some water in it from the rain and the lens fogged and it took a few minutes to get another camera. Vince and Patty Hoff had two for 3.62 Duane Limberg and Ryan Lawson had two for 6.64 Brigg Norwood and Tony Bryant had three for 6.97 including this nice one! Jim Phillips and Jamie Norris had a limit for 8.81 Robert Hitt and John Bruner also had five for 8.81 New members Craig Self and Jim Echols had four fish for 8.90 Shane Garber and Joseph Tully had five for an adjusted 9.38 Clark Crenshaw and Roddy Bieber weighed a limit for 9.87

Finishing fifth were long time members Maurice Williams and Derek Sullivan weighing five for 14.57 Big bass of the tournament was this 7.56 monster. Sorry for the blurry photo A clearer view of their big bass from the water after she was caught Finishing fourth were Jason Hunnicutt and Travis Reaves with five for 15.30 which included a 4.75 anchor fish Finishing third with a limit for 16.37 were Chris Atkinson and myself Nipping us by .06 pounds for second place was the team of Cameron Laing and Patrick Sharp. Their five weighed 16.43 Here are your winners! Vince Burt and Mark Werner had one of those days They figured out the pattern early and their fish bit all day. 26.87 pounds is one of the largest winning weights in RHBC history! Heres Vince with their two biggest weighing 7.27 and 6.12 respectively Thanks to James and Shellye Crawford for doing registration and live well checks in the ramp chaos Saturday morning and helping with weigh in. Thanks to Paul Spann and Robert Hitt for weighing fish and keeping the line moving. Thanks to everyone who came out and fished. We will have two opportunities next month to see if we might get a day of decent weather to fish. Our regularly scheduled tournament on June 8 at Lake Tawakoni and our Lake Fork make up date of Saturday June 22! Hope to see you there!
