Ive been researching this as well. If you dont want a round reel or inshore reel you will need to look at a JDM reel, namely the Bantam MGL PG. Thats about all I can find but Im just learning about Shimanos.

I still have about a dozen of the old 200B5 reels I use. ALMOST indestructible and works like a charm. I have heard good things about the E series 5 as well. Do not know about the newer reels, because I use the old ones. If it ain't broke, do not try to fix it. Been using them since I bought them back in 1999, 00 or 2002, I think. Can't remember that long ago. The year they changed them is the year I bought them all. Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

Revo Winch or Lews Super Duty Wide Spool. Get away from Shimano. You'll be glad you did

I switched to Lews quite a few year ago. havent looked back. the wide spool super duty reel is great for cranking and also a c-rig with long casts and big line.

Shimano is overpriced and they are building c'r'a'p' reels. Had 2 of the Aldebarans come apart on me.

I have an E5 for 10XD's but use a 6 gear Curado K for all other cranking needs. I'll use a 7.1 curado for shallow and medium depth cranks. Curado K in 6.2:1 will get it done for you.

Thats my money fish
