Soak chicken hearts which have been cut in half, in soured maize overnight. They smell like soured maize which the catfish love and they stay on a hook better than cheese or livers. Catfish at Fork are still shallow in coves around cattails and grass

I caught 14 up to about 5 pounds in two hours on chicken hearts Friday afternoon. I'll be back out Monday thru Thursday. The weather should be a bit more stable. It was cold coming back up the lake late Friday afternoon.

WillieRip taught me a trick. Take any cut bait and coat it in pool salt. Alabama catfish love a little salt with their meal.
He is truly a sick individual.

I use to bait my trotlines with chicken hearts. It is a good cheap bait. I caught a 42 pound blue at Lake Ivie on one. Great times!
