I have a 2002 Yamaha 0x66 250 Im having issues with it shutting off while running down the lake. It starts fine and idles fine. I have replaced everything that has to do with fuel system and it’s still doing the same thing. Could someone please tell me what else it could be. Thanks in advance.

When mine was doing the same thing it was a loose connection on the ignition switch.
Sometimes would last 20 miles without stopping, sometimes could only go 1/2 mile.

I used to have a 2002 Yamaha 200 that started doing this, as Time went on sometimes it would be very had to start turning over and over but never firing. I checked everything and finally broke out a meter and began watching voltage as it went to the High pressure fuel pump which also fed each injector. I found that when I had the problem I had no voltage at all going to the pump or the injectors. I traced that wire back to a voltage regulator of sorts I honestly cannot remember the part now It was some kind of relay or regulator. Once I replaced that part the motor ran just fine again with no troubles. The failure was Intermittant so when I took it to a shop they were not able to find the issue. This went on for quite some time before I found the real problem. I believe it is a yellow wire with a red stripe from the High Pressure fuel pump back to the part which is close to the main fuse. I hope this helps some. Back when I had the problem it seems like the part cost about 90.00 or so. Wish I remembered it more sorry. Jody

FYI this problem literally took me about 8 months to find since most trips everything was normal but every now and again it would just shut down and would not pump fuel anymore. Very odd problem LOL
