I will be visiting family for a long weekend at the end of June on LBJ. My brother-in-law and I have always talked about hiring a guide when we are there every year. Any recommendations?

I'd definitely recommend Charles. I went on a guided trip with him on LBJ and it was a great time, and learned a new technique.
