I read on TDT news that in 2017 the log jam near Mother Neff State Park was cleared back in 2017. Can anyone confirm this? I don't want to go out there to fish it, if it's gone!

EDIT: Also, how do you get to it?

Thanks

Fly tier (yeah, I can fly fish...but the fish don't like frothy water!)

right, someone told me that you have to park at the gate and walk...BUT, if it isn't there anymore I don't want to walk for 2 miles for no reason! (about a mile there, a mile back, from what I was told)

It looks like the section mentioned in the articles I could find is clear LINK but there appears to be a section down river that is still there. Maybe this is what they are speaking of? LINK

Thanks Tepper I saw that second one but wasn't sure if that's what people were fishing or not.
Thanks

Depends if its a solid jam or just a surface jam. Water will flow either way, if its a surface jam now you will the water movement your chasing but there will likely still be fish there. Coming from other experiences, Ive never fished the area.

OK, I talked to the guy yesterday that was telling me about the log jam. He said he was there last week and it's still there. I now have a map and directions so I'm heading out there tomorrow! TONS of whites and crappie!!!

The lower log jam is certainly there, I fished it about a month ago from a boat. We did ok but got there a bit late in the day for the morning bite. There was quite a few boats and bank fishers there as well. There was no way around it by boat, so I don`t know about anything upstream.

found it today....what a walk...40 minutes to get there from the gate. There were a TON of Gar...so many that i kept snagging them on their fins. Some were prolly over 100#! I caught quite a few whites, a MONSTER carp that weighed about 30#, several 4+# gasper goo...no crappie :-(. It was fun, but not fun enough to go again! By foot anyway!
