If this was the guy who cut 45 deg. angles on the corners and straight across the end, then I think this was his first time to cheat.
I don't think he is smart enough or clever enough to know how to cheat without it being totally obvious.
Like painting a 14 pound catfish to look like a bass and trying to weigh it in would be just as noticeable as what he did.

Are guys like this allowed to continue fishing in bigger tournaments? I have no experience in tournament fishing and I am just curious as to how it works after a scumbag is proven guilty.
I understand you can't keep track of everyone who has cheated and smaller tournaments don't have the resources bigger ones do, but if he is a known repeat offender, why is he still able to enter tournaments of that size?

Most organized trails have a stipulation if you've been caught cheating in a tournament at any level before your ineligible to enter, essentially your done forever, I know ABA has this rule as do FLW and BASS sanctioned events, I could imagine the othe major team trails in texas have a similiar rule but not for sure.

I guess my biggest scare has always been the question of catching one of these that HAVE been trimmed prior and thinking your good to go because that is how it became about in nature? IDK but when your blood is pumping out there and you catch a good legal one I don't think anyone would second guess it IF they did not initially do it themselves. Thoughts? hmmm

Caught one on Fork during a tournament that appeared to have its tail trimmed. The fish was in the slot when I caught it but the tail seemed to way shorter than it should have been. Could of been from the spawn as well but would expect more of a rough look. His tail had clean edges.

It was. Takes time for these things to be investigated, documented and heard by a grand jury to hand down an indictment.

Wow it's even on the Drudge Report now. His life is OVER.

When I am not fishing I am thinking about fishing. And mostly what I should have done differently my last trip!
