Anyone else find that the fall rates vary quite a bit between different colors or did I get some funky ones? I picked up 3 of them, all just the regular Vision 110 in different colors. They all say "slow rise". One of them does rise slow, one is almost perfectly neutral, and one sinks quite rapidly. The sinking one has actually been quite nice for fishing deeper water and it's already covered with teeth marks. grin

Are you throwing all 3 on same water on same trip?

Same water, same day, same setup.

Variables involved in manufacturing process and lack of quality control.

Send me your contact info as well as colors, where and when you bought them. I will look into it and get them replaced if need be.

I have had 2 blue and chrome hat sank like lead on the very first use.

Contacted the factory and they wanted me to send them back on my dime. Put them in my drawer to send them back eventually but got tired of looking at them so I trashed them. I hate going to the post office so I tossed it up to bad luck.

Looking for a different brand to switch to.

The bill on a brand new 110 vision I bought just broke in half after a few casts on the water. Didnt hit anything or damage it. May of just been cracked who knows.

FYI: youre PM box is full Mark Perry.

I'm not worried about replacing them, was just wondering if this was common. The sinking, or "defective" one, caught a bunch of fish for me yesterday.

On mine......12lb flouro, 12lb mono, 30lb braid.

Could have used them for c-rig weights

Also......it took 4-5 emails and 3 weeks to hear back from Megabass.

Story time.

I listened to David Fritz talk about his crankbaits that he used for tournaments.

He was king of the crankbait in the late 90's and I got the chance to listen to him at a seminar in Ft Worth prior to the Bassmasters Megabucks.
For his deep divers he wanted only the best ones meaning the deepest divers. When he got a shipment of baits it might number in the hundreds. He would take them to the lake and set up on a place so he would know how deep the bait went. He said half the baits he could tell in a cast or two that they were not up to par. Those he would put an X on the underside of the bill and put aside as give aways. The next level was the ones that did better but were not the best. He would mark them with a XX and keep them to fun fish and practice fish.
The very best baits were the top dozen or so that would really dig down deep and the ones he used while tourney fishing. He marked them with a XXX. Then he said if we ever found a bait with an XXX on it he wanted it back.

there is no doubt crankbait and jerkbait manufacturing is a fairly cumbersome process involving several steps. Aside from them being out of tune, its amazing how there can be some many differences in the action and depth they run within the same model! I know I've got some traps, jerkbaits, and cranks that are nearly wore out, but keep on catching. A part of it is confidence in the bait, but then there is that other part...there is just something about how certain baits just "have it". crazy.
