I wanted to siphon the gas out of my tank to see how much is in there compared to my gas gauge to know about how much is left in the tank at a certain point on my gas gauge. I cant get a line down into the tank where I fill gas. So I took off the cowling and took the fuel line loose at the fuel water separator and hooked a bulb to it. I can pump the bulb and gas will come out but it won't continue to siphon. On my old boat I could do this with out any problem.. Is there something I am doing wrong?

Boat is on trailer and the gas can is lower on ground (lower and the boat gas tank).

Boat is a 2017 Blazer 2400 with a 2017 Yamaha 300

Your new boat has an anti-siphon valve on the tank most likely. It is designed to prevent the tank from dumping all the fuel in the bilge or lake in the event of a fuel line being cut.

I hand squeezed - via the bulb 14 gallons of bad fuel out of mine, think of a prison scenario - what would you do if you had all the time in the world and nothing to lose and it will go faster.
