Stop What?

It would be a decision maker for me, I don't want to get done fishing and hang out with a bunch of fishermen getting drunk

I want to explore the clubs and maybe ride motorcycles at night and explore

Can you rent motorcycles for 24 hour periods?

Are there any nighclubs to frequent to listen to bands?

OK, no offense meant. Didnt know it was it a legit question. I just thought it was as often does going in the donkey showsdirection....... laugh Seriously though most lodges are away from the populated areas so rentals would be logistically tough. My question to any lodge I was staying at is if night life is close and if transportation would be available for a small group to and from at night.

If you have never caught a giant and want to help make it happen, tell the guide if you catch a 10+ , he catches a Ben Franklin. It works every time. Also, you'll never see the bottom of your margarita glass or wait on a cold beer.

The $100 bill does help. But you should weigh your own fish. There have been many a guide who weighed an 8.8 lb bass to 10.1 lbs. The guides understand that a 10lb+ bass usually generates a big pay off. I have seen dozens, maybe hundreds of fish that were well under 10lbs called 10lbers. Many a post on the TFF is famous for this. I've seen posts on here of fish likely in the mid to high 7's that were called 10's. The guides know how to make digital scales work to their advantage. Make sure you tare the scale before you weigh it. eek So many folks want that elusive 10 lbs bass so they are willing to accept the weight given by their guide. The guides are like magicians with a scale, their lively hood depends on it.

This has happened to me in both Mexico and Canada

And of course the guide will ALWAYS ask what what your PB is because they know full well if you beat it, theyre in for a big payday

On one fish, I saw the scale hover at 8 lbs and all of a sudden, the scale jumped to 10+ lbs. Everybody high fives, cameras come out and two minutes later the fish is back in the water. I twice asked the guide if that was really a 10+ fish and of course he said yes. I was not convinced but he still got a BIG tip

When my son and I went to Comedero last year, I tipped 50.00 standard. 30 for me, 20 for my son. If they're really helpful and bring us to decent places, then its 60.00. I tell them, if they put me on a 10+lb bass ( I have my own scale ) then I'll give them a 100.00.

I just booked a 6-day trip to El Salto and Picachos, and Angler's Inn recommends $200 to your guide for 5 days fishing, and $250 for the week to the waitstaff, maids, drivers and cooks. I guess it all depends on your trip's length and the accomodations you choose.

I gave guides $40 a day. At the end of the trip I gave $200 to camp.

Yep, best way I can think of to have a trip end badly.

I've been to Ron Speeds lodges many times. The basis is to tip lodge staff $20 per day. For the guides, $20 a day is recommended as the base, tip more for better performance and quality of fish caught. For me that works our to $30 to $40 a day.

This.

We fished Comodero in Feb for 3 days. Two of the days we had guides that were really engaged & helpful. One day not so much. I ran the TM most of that day but it still ended well for us. One day my partner told our young guide that if he landed a bass over 7# he would give him his watch. It was the last day and he hadn't caught one over 5# so far.

About 45 mins later Mike sets the hook on a good fish and the guide nets it. We put it on the scale and it goes 7.76! Mike made good on his promise to give Fernando his watch. He was one happy guide! thumb

I will say this. If you want to catch 200 fish per day per PERSON Comodero is The Place to go!!
