Don’t have access to Shad. Wonder if this stuff is any good? Any of you used it?

Punch baits (especially Danny Kings or CJs) work really well for small channel cats.

Thanks Pineywoods for the reply. The Pro Cat chicken liver cheese punch bait worked well today. Caught four small and one larger channels on it this morning and hooked a larger fish that wrapped my line around a cable or something that I had to break off.

Stubbyscatfishbait cheese is not messy and catches channels. Just through that in.

I have been using Stubby cat fish bait on Lavon , I use fine mesh cut into 3 inch squares to wrap around a ball of dough bait and I can use a circle hook . So far Lavon has only offered dink's . No keepers .

Caught several nice channels, some around 4# on some CJ's shad that I have had in the boat for several years. Went without being very well prepared, without dip net and with old 12# leader with treble hooks. Several were big enough to break the leaders before getting them to the boat or trying to lift them into the boat. The bite was lite, but the fight was good.

Punch bait is a great way in warmer weather/water to catch a bunch of fish. We catch plenty of blues in the summer and not just channel cat. In the past month, I have bought about 36 jars of Danny Kings at local tackle/sporing goods stores that put it on discount......and I mean really cheap. If it has been marked down, I buy it all. I save it for the summer, mix a bunch of it in a bigger bucket and head out. Sometimes adding a little skipjack oil will really make a difference too. Check the bigger box stores/sporting goods stores for clearance prices. Hope this helps.
