I still have a bunch of B's. Really like my 200 BSF's. Also have 2 of the Scorpions that are the same size as the 100 B's … 1000 is the model # I think. I bought a K this summer after drifting over toward the Lew's Dark Side for a couple of years. Like the K pretty well, it's smooth and quiet and handles the lighter stuff real well.

I have 3 of the Shimano K reels and they are nice and smooth and cast very well but unless you are a die hard Shimano fan, you should check out the Daiwa Tatula CT. They are very good reels also, long casting and smooth and you can get them on ebay for $89.95 shipped. They are fantastic reels, especially for the price. I have 6 of them in various gear ratio's.

Did you ever get any of the B super free models? Those were really nice.

Fished most of the Shimano Curado models and the new K has smoother gears, better drag, better cast control and higher speed options. The E models are solid but the improvements brought in by the K are huge, especially for contact baits.

exbassin,

I have 3 of the Super Frees and LOVE them to death. Casts so well it is SCARY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BUT a DREAM to use them. I keep them only for Tournament days, nothing more. WONDERFUL REELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Best they have made, in my opinion. Thanks for mentioning them. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

I have 18 of the Curado E7's. Got lucky and found a stash of brand new ones about a year ago. For me, they are the best reel for the money I have ever seen. I won't be buying anything new for a long time.but instead will have them serviced by Shimano every couple of years.

I tried the K after sticking with the E's for years and years.

I would trade K's for used E's all day long. The E's are machines.

K's are more adjustable than the E's. I have kept all my E series and don't plan to unload them but I would much rather buy a new Curado K than a used E series.

I have several Es and Ks. I honestly prefer the Ks. I'd say they are equal in quality/value to an E. Gs were trash and Is are ok. Everyone will have their preferences. I really like the K brake system and how they fit my hand. I'd definitely buy a new K before I went looking for used Es.

I'm not big on Shimano, however, the new K reels are a machine.

I never did like the old greenies. I have some CU-200's and they just sat on the shelf. Didn't like them at all.
