Why would anyone pay $150 when you can post it here or other similar sites for free? I see bass boats posted all over Facebook marketplace too. You put your cell number on a website and are surprised to get junk calls/texts? If its really from boat trader that seems a little sketchy but as a buyer I am still actively searching boat trader as well as here, Craigslist and Facebook. Dont understand the desire to be conspicuously cryptic but B*** T***** is probably no better or worse than C*********. Personally, I avoid A*** T***** and B*** T***** like the plague as a seller, but will source them if Im in the market as a buyer. Also expect lifetime spam from B**** F*** N****** resulting from listing with the former. T** and B*** B*** C****** are great for regional (Texas) and national exposure. For most of us its not our first rodeo and understand and accept the numerous aggravations (the laundry list is long) associated with selling/buying a boat. Good luck on you sale... ^^^^^ Because there are people that buy boats like these two, and I also that search many different avenues. Youve been in the industry 15 years and just now joined TFF to complain about boat trader? ^^^^ I am pretty sure Stephen was a member here years back when he first got into guiding and tournament fishing, before he went into the military and got injured which has cost him the ability to continue his fishing career. He probably just forgot his login info from years back. So I'm sure he didn't just join to complain. He's a fine young man, just giving a heads up to others on something that's happening to him for the 1st time.

Watch Out , maybe a scam in the making. Stephen, this is what you really have to watch on any online marketplace now. Be very careful, lots of scams coming from 3rd parties, even on legit sites!

I don't understand. Is the scam that they call you and then won't return your response? What was the text message. The exact text message that has you worried?

Yes, I've had the same thing happen. Happens all the time when I post on CL. It's all scammers. Be weary.

Comes with the online territory, unfortunately. It is really a pain and pretty much unavoidable even on legit sites.

The scam is spam. In all fairness to B*** T******, etc. they are probably not a willing participant. More often than not, unattended scraper applications distill contact information from the listing companys web sites, identify the results as a phone number and/or e-mail, then ping (validate) it. No actual contact with you is required but some scraper logic will attempt to determine if the phone number is actually answered by either voice mail or a person (worth more). Once they validate the contact info by lack of technical rejection, it is bundled along with others for sale to spammers. Envision this process occurring 24x7...

Pretty sure Stephen is talking about them. I just had my Phoenix listed on there a few months back. After I signed up, tons of spam emails and phone calls. Pretty sure they sell off or share your information.
