Travis expected to hit 675' later today and that's from rain that's already hit the ground - doesn't count what's coming the rest of the week. Could be full by tomorrow.

Scratch that forecast. We have something extraordinary going on today. Llano river flowing 285k cfs - LBJ 10ft over bank - boats going over Starke dam - Lake Travis up over 4ft since midnight. It will be full, tomorrow .

Extensive water level changes can be very frustrating. Those years between 2013 and 2015 when folks stopped stopped going to Falcon were interesting. There were trips in there where I didnt catch a keeper, but I kept at it and have found a lot of spots I never wouldve found if the water didnt fluctuate. After 9 years of owning places on Falcon, Ive come to th conclusion that fluctuating water levels will make you a better fisherman. You constantly have to find new stuff, so you are always looking around for the next spot.

Ok, I MAY have been a little hasty! LOL! LBJ lake has boats floating over the dam. Sorry to hear about those folks. We need the water, but also want it safely! Praying for those folks.

Well it looks like a good omen that Lake Travis was low. At least they will have somewhere to put all of this water!

Im pretty sure its because of the amount of water that is on the way from the llano river last week but its gotta pass through lbj This and the Perdenales. Its a sight to see when its cresting at Hammets Crossing.

Lot's of reasons for the water release on the Highland Lakes. Google blue sucker fish. Bass fishing and jet skiing not high on the list. I personally don't have a problem with it. One of the worst droughts in a long, long time a few years ago and those lakes were in no danger of going dry. People were just mad because they couldn't launch their boat and water their lawn. Hopefully the new reservoir down South will alleviate some of this.

Forecast has changed - LCRA is opening at least one gate at Mansfield at noon. Level is expected to rise above 681 into the flood pool. Insane amount of water coming down from LBJ.

This from J.R., over at AustinBassFishing.com:
Llano is cresting at the second highest level in recorded history at 31 feet, with them releasing at 275,260 cfs in Kingsland right now and the Pedernales over 20k. This should fill Travis all the way up, maybe even over full pool a little.
Travis came up two feet in the last two hours. Now at 673.42 and rising.
