I grew up on this and olive loaf. Hated it then, hate it now. I think it was a form of punishment.
How can we screw up cheese for the kids.....oh I know put little nasty red things in it.... How can we make processed meat worse....Oh, I know put nasty little red things in it. AND!! lets not even remove them from the nasty little green things.

You musta been from a rich family, we had mayonnaise sandwiches and was glad to have'em. When we moved to Dallas and dad got a better paying job we got to experience ballony (phonetic spelling lol )sandwiches. In less than a year we were eating double decker bologna sandwiches. Still eat'em.

Everytime I think of pimento I think of olives. Then I think of martini and then I think of how good those martini soaked olives taste and that makes me thirsty.
So then I get to drinking and not even hungry for pimento cheese. So I never get to try any so I don't know how it taste.

My FIL and fishing partner always had pimento cheese and bolony sandwiches and Old Milwaukee beer in the boat. He worked for the old Strohs brewery. Good Times.

Yep. from the rich side of the tracks.bolt

Peanut butter was cheap back in the day and one jar would last a long time. Peanut butter & honey sandwich (honey was free) was a every day lunch. Sometimes the honey was replaced with grape jelly. The bread was always white bread.

I have a small jar of peanut butter that I bought back in 2012. I keep it around so that when I'm shopping and see peanut butter, I think, nope got some at the house. grin
