3.23rd is the current software for the solix. that was released earlier this summer. Should be a new software update released soon. It should fix the depth reading issue

Helix 9.. 120hrs on unit.. 2d, Di and Si no reading on screen. The unit started off freezing for a second or two now no reading at all. GPS works fine simulator mode works fine...suggestions? If transducer is bad would the screen still scroll across or would there be no reading at all ?

I got a question for those who know more about electronics than I do:
I have a helix 12 gen 1 SI on the console and want to upgrade the bow unit, I am thinking of a helix 10 mega DI to be able to look at brush for fish and also want to add a 360 when able. Now the question I have is for DI looking at piles for fish, and using the 360 how much am I giving up with a 10 and not a 12? If its a big deal I can go with a 12 but I like the price of the 10 much more. Let me know what y'all think, and I understand that a lot of it is just opinion.

I think your gonna like the 12" better. The 360 image will fit on the 12" screen better than the smaller screens.

I have a 1199 CI HD and with an early model 360 pole on the back. I would like to have a 2nd dept finder on front that can show my 360 from the back of the boat while allowing my original unit to do the same. what would be a good model to put on the front that could interface with my existing equipment and what interface do I need? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Any Helix model that has Ethernet. Makes no difference if it is a SI model, DI model or Sonar Model. That would be a Helix 7 G2N, or any Helix 9, Helix 10, or Helix 12.
Also an ONIX and SOLIX will display 360 at the same time.

The 360 is an Ethernet accessory, you have one cable now and two connections. To have more connections, you need the AS ETH 5PXG Ethernet Switch. Then each device would connect to the Switch via Ethernet cable. The Helix models need the AS EC QDE Ethernet adapter just like your 1199 does.

This is my 360 being displayed on a Helix, SOLIX and ONIX at the same time:

Helix 12 CHIRP MEGA SI+ GPS G3N and G4N, 1198c SI, SOLIX 10 SI G3,
Helix 8 MEGA SI+ GPS G4N, SOLIX 12 SI and G3, MEGA 360, MEGA LIVE TL, RC-1

I recently updated my Helix 10si G1 to the 1.840 software and missed the part about turning off the Auto Upload Data function before the update. The unit now will not work when my Terrova is turned on. Its my understanding that I need to reinstall older software and then go back through the update process correctly.

Does anybody have an older update backed up that they would be willing to share?

I will also be calling Humminbird today to see if they can give me access to an older software update without me having to send them the unit.

I've got a question about networking a couple of units. I've got a 998C SI model (serial number 11101802-0149) at the console, and a 788 CI Combo (serial number 10020202-0531)at the bow. Can these two units be networked together? If so, what cable(s) do I need? Also, is it possible to have the 788 read the mapping card that is in the 998, but use the GPS antenna that is in the 788 for location?

I would like to able to view all of my waypoints, tracks, mapping card, etc. on both units, but I still want to be able to have the separate GPS antennas used. Is this possible?

Any information is appreciated. Thanks!

Them that don't know him won't like him.
And them that do sometimes won't know how to take him.

The 788 will only be able to network if its the 788 HD model.

only solix /onix can share maps from one unit to another

My helix 9 has an option to turn off the transducer. Maybe you can check that. It also has the system check. Might run that and see if it says transducer connected.

There is no Helix 7 MEGA SI+. The current model is Helix 7 CHIRP MEGA SI GPS G3 or Helix 7 CHIRP MEGA SI GPS G3N.

The transducer that comes with those is just like the Compact SI transducer of earlier models and does not have a Down Imaging piezo. The unit has composite DI views created by blending the two SI pulses.

The difference is the G3/G3N has the additional MEGA Imaging frequency and Dual Spectrum CHIRP 2D sonar instead of Dual Beam 83/200 kHz.

I have tried the larger transducer that the larger units have as a standard but did not notice any improved images in the short period I tested it. The larger SI+ transducer does not add dedicated DI to that unit or + power, just a couple hundred more dollars.

This is the two Compact SI transducers:

This is the standard transducer for the Helix 7 MEGA SI units compared to the standard MEGA SI+ transducer:

Will the newer, I think its the 1.9 update on my helix 10 chirp mega fix the shallow water reading? It just started it the last time out, been reading good before then. Wish I would have reset the default settings while I was out there. 1.610 is what I'm running now. And is this the new base map soft ware 1.051

My units using 1.900 don't have the depth glitch, some still do.

The Humminbird Basemap is a separate download from the unit software.
1.460 is the software version that added the capability to install the Basemap, all versions with a higher number have that included, but you still have to install the separate Basemap file if you don't have it.
There is no new file, just the one in three versions depending on what unit you have. 1.051 is the 8GB+ file you would have.
It is the 2017 Lakemaster coverage and none are HD.
