You know you are the established program with huge Grass roots support.

Ok maybe you did need to re-evaluation payouts etc. You did that. You still have THE CLASSIC. Which is still the Superbowl, most name recognition etc.

They have to sit tight, wait and see what changes and make moves then. Doing much now is a shot in the dark.

The "Classic" isn't the classic if over half the field of top anglers is fishing another trail.

How many classic qualifiers have left? Will they be allowed to fish next year's classic if they are already qualified?

Elites will still have a full field of anglers. This doesn't hurt BASS

If it wasn't for the platform BASS provided, we wouldn't have heard of most of these guys. In most sports, pro's dont stick around for 40 years. They have their hayday and move on. I think we will see new personalities emerge in BASS and the classic tourney style (5 biggest) prevail.

So here is my question.......will these guys not fish both MLF (BPT), and BASS???? If the dates don't over lap, not sure why guys wont fish both. No different than what they already do.

BPT said the logistics would make that impossible at the tour level. Don't know about the Opens.

I'm so sick of hearing this argument. I sure hope you or any of the others high and mighty's spouting this garbage have never left a company for a better paying job in the same field.

This is no different. To us it's about what style tournament we want to watch but to the anglers it's their job and how they make a living. So if they have a chance to make more money and provide more for their family then who can blame them.

Sounds like you are misunderting my point. I don't fault them for leaving BASS. I am speaking to the platform of BASS and their potential to continue as a tournament trail.

You're right, Im sorry I just read the first line and flew off the handle. I was reading BBC and Facebook earlier about how these guys weren't loyal and wouldn't be anywhere without BASS.

That's what I get for skimming.. now I am the egghead! hammer

I've never understood the necessity other than each tour sticking it to each other for fishermen to commit/fish every event. They compare themselves to golfers all the time but golfers are self employed and pick their own slate of events each year with the only stipulations being a minimum number and that one event has to be a new venue every year.

These guys are more like boxers - WBO, WBA, etc and we all know how its the promoters making the real coin in that sport.
