This. I went from “I’ll never spend that much on a rod” to owning 8...

My favorite way to fish is pitching a 3/8 or 1/2 jigs, but I also like throwing trig worms and Carolina rigs. I didn't know if I should by a all around rod or get one specific for pitching? I am usually pitching from the bank and fish a lot of ponds and tanks but on occasion I will fish a tournament with buddies. Thoughts???

I would go with the 7”5 mh I think it’s a 893. Amazing rod my favorite weightless Senko and fluke rod. Next go by the 7’1 mh then the 7’3 Carolina rod. Now your set.

873!! It’s an awesome rod! I’m 6’7” and prefer a longer rod, so I use an 894 for all of those techniques, but for someone who isn’t a giant, I definitely would suggest the 893. I’m another guy who said... “eh, we’ll give it a shot”... won’t buy a rod that’s not a g.loomis!

894c and 873c with a slight edge to the 894
Both are special but down here if I'm pitching around cover for big fish I like a little more power. I pitch 1/4 oz trigs with it, pitch jigs with it and use it as my football jig and Carolina rig rod.
Odd that this new series would be available at a vendor and there is not even so much as a mention of the new line on Dobyns website. confused
yeah I could find anything either so talked to my buddy who is on their staff and he said that "yes they just released them and due to moving to Texas they hadn't updated the website yet. they will be around $350."

I wish we could see some specs on them but I'm sure we will have something soon.

Around $350? That’s the Extreme HP price. Seems odd they wouldn’t have a more premium offering with the new line. No?

If you can't find em wind em.

They are retailing for $549. There was an announcement in the recent Dobyns newsletter that anyone can sign up for on the Dobyns website. The will be updated on the website soon. As someone mentioned, the move has caused some delays. I will put my hands on one of these for the first time this afternoon and hopefully the weather gives me some time to test it on some Monticello fish this weekend.

Thanks for the clarification Chris! I got the info in a text maybe he fat fingered a number as a new higher end series being the same price as the current high end ones doesn't make sense!

I’m kinda intrigued by this new Dobyns rod mentioned above though...

+1 on the NRX

Thank you all for the feedback!!! Do these NRX's ever go on sale? Is the conquest that much better than NRX?

I didn't like the feel of the conquest as well as I like the NRX, but that's just me. If it's a Loomis it's gotta be good.
The NRX is the cat's meow. My favorite model is the 7'1" mh. Dobyns rods are nice and I have a dozen of them but they ain't no Loomis. [/quote

I have a boat load of Loomis rods, I do have one Dobyns Championship Exeme I believe it is called, it does not take a back seat to my Loomis rods, it is one of my favorites, it is a shakey head baitcasting rod.

Not really. Sent you a PM.

I got a new 7' Conquest for Father's Day but have only used it once so I cannot say I have given it a good comparison test yet.
