I would tie up under one of the bridges with lights.

tied up under a bridge, deployed a couple lights. It was slow going, but I caught a half dozen or so, enough for tonight's dinner. It was a full moon which I've heard is not good for night fishing. minnows, 20 fow, suspended a few feet off the bottom.

thanks for the advice!

I'm still trying to get the hang of night crappie fishing, so any tips would be welcome.

A full moon is a good thing for night fishing as far as I know. A full moon means the fish feed heavier at night. One thing I have found with night fishing it that it can be very hit or miss. There have to be a good amount of fish within a certain distance of where you set up. If there aren't, then you wont do that good. I would also focus on fishing shallower and just on the outside of the lights shadow. A lot of times the fish sit just in the darkness waiting for minnows to dart out and may only be a couple of foot deep. Did you have a good amount of bait at your light?
