I'm looking to get the windows on my wife's car tinted. Currently, they dont have tint and it feels like you're getting sun burned while riding in the car. I am not the most educated on window tint and have a few questions. What's the best tint for your money? Will dyed tint film be okay or should I go with metalized film? The two brands that the shop has that I am going to are Llumar and Wincos.

I had Llumar installed on my new truck in 2013. Very satisfied.

Forgot to mention the price difference that I was quoted between the two brands were 100 dollars. The llumar would be around 150 and the wincos around 250.

The metallized will have a some reflectivity to it. Could also interfere with some phones and GPS devices. I used to install some metallized but my clientele like the charcoal "smoked" look and I got away from it. Color stabile dyed film is what I install.

Whatever film you choose, don't fall for it when your buddy says he can install it for you. Window tinting is an art. It is not hard to do, but it is very hard to do it well. Go with the guy that does it every day, not the guy that did it on his last car.

I would get it professionally installed and it'll run ya about $200. Get as dark as the law allows.
