I have had them twice, the first time was a year after I had my appendix removed. When I had my appendix removed I walked into the ER doubled over at around 2 am. Amost a year from when my appendix was removed I was hit with kidney stones, I didn't know what was happing and joked that my appendix grew back. It was no joke though and around the same time I was in the back of an ambulance on the way to the ER.
I hope you start feeling better and the Dr. can use the sonic waves tobreal them up. My Dr wanted to play Dig Dug and go up after them with a claw and camera. I never called him back and I finally past them.

I have yet to see one that large, and I do CT in an Emergency Room! that's huge and probably stopping up your ureter. ouch! I've seen strong women bent over in pain and telling me a stone is ten times worse than childbirth!

Well I made it thru the night without any killer-type pain. Now I'm just waiting to talk to my urologist about what he's going to do to attack this thing, and how fast he can do it. Update in a few hours.

Actually the one working my room wasn't bad at all. I was feeling too bad to try to sneek a photo, plus my wife had my phone. Ratz was there but I don't think he took one either, but he can serve to verify.

Dude I thought mine at 12mm was big. Pain like no other and blockage that was causing one kidney to swell. They went in and surgically removed it by breaking into three pieces.
I will warn if you have the Ureteroscopy done the aftermath is not fun. Peeing blood will make you see stars and be thankful their is a handicap bar next to the toilet.
Good luck and hope they get it soon.

Hope everything comes out okay. I'm lucky I haven't experienced a kidney stone yet (knock on wood)

Once they get them broken up it'll be no sweat. I'm told at that point it's like passing BB sized chunks of steel wool. Much better than the marble sized chunks of steel wool you were dealing with. Godspeed sir.

Just got home from the Doc's office. This stone is too big to even blast with the sonic waves so they will do a laser scope procedure this Thursday, and blast it with a "ray gun" from inside. Sounds wonderful!

I asked the doc how a stone this size got that far down the tube without me feeling it. "It grew there" was his reply. Probably came out of the kidney at some time, got stuck close to the bladder and just grew there for a long time.
