As long as they hold for 2-3 years they will be happy with their investment.

Question you have to ask yourself... why not buy 1? Think about the dot com stocks back in the day... or back when apple almost went bankrupt. Close minded will keep a few dollars in your pocket...seeing the big picture and knowing where something can go will make you wealthy.

If they mined the gold available, what would it be worth? If they mined the diamonds available what would they be worth? Both be worth about as much as a tin can... supply and demand. Keep supply low and demand the same price will stay relatively the same... as gold and diamonds do now. Bitcoin is a set supply, will not ever be more and/or less based off someones opinion. Like I said before, dont have to understand it, dont have to like it, but do yourself a favor and allocate just 2% of your investment into crypto. I would stick with the big player (bitcoin) and have a little in a few others. Block chain technology and crypto is here to stay though. The younger generations will make sure of it.

I'm sure that the people in Puerto Rico who owned bitcoin during their recent disaster were well served by them. After all, with no power & no communications a bitcoin has zero value because you don't actually have it in your possession.

On the other hand, someone with a few gold coins, or silver coins ... or paper currency ... or even, heaven forbid, a CHECKBOOK, has something of value to exchange when the power ain't working. Sure, you may pay more than the thing is worth, but it beats not getting necessities at all.

Man dies goes to heaven. He begs and pleads with St. Peter to bring his gold with him. St. Peter finally agrees. So now this guys is walking through heaven pushing a wheelbarrow full of gold. Finally some guy hollers out to him. "He dude! where you going with all that pavement?"

All Im saying is a diverse portfolio is a must and it includes crypto... comment about gold and diamonds is true though, if they released the stock pile they have then their value would significantly drop in an instant. Either way invest for the future however you see fit... and keep fishing!

In all my years, about the only investments I have made and never lost money on when I cashed out has been real estate. Some big, some small, but always profitable and I understand it....unlike bitcoins.

I agree, real estate should also be in a portfolio... 2% isnt much to invest into crypto... with chances of crazy returns a few years down the road.
