I work at Tractor Supply. Does that make me savy?

Agree with that many horses you won't be mowing. That being said I agree with getting a big zero Turn mower. That being said I would consider what is the closet tractor dealership around. We bought a 75hp New Holland because they come pick it up and deliver when it needs service. And it is local. Thats a big plus to us

I had a Kubota BX and that was one tough small tractor. It had a belly mower that cut grass like a golf course. It was 60 inches wide and the cut was beautiful. It had a front end loader that was amazing. I moved dirt and rocks with ease. I put teeth on the front end loader bucket and it would dig out a pile of dirt that had been sitting for months. I also had a zero turn mower and for yard mowing with flower beds and trees it was the best. I used the Kubota tractor with the hydraulic three point hitch to move my boat around and other trailers. I loved it. When I sold the house on the acreage and bought in town, I sold it, but if I needed another tractor Kubota would be the one.

Look into Mahindra. Pretty cheap and easy to maintain. Great service department too. Bought mine in Kerens.

Go talk to Navasot on the THF. Runs tractor sales for a Mahindra dealer in East Tx (Navasota) and also deals in good used tractors. He's a straight shooter and will steer you the right direction.

My dad had 6 acres and had a Kioti but I can't remember the model. We had no problems with it at all.
He was the type of person who researched everything thoroughly before he bought.

I've got a Kubota B1700 with the underbelly mower, the 3 point tiller, hydrostatic drive, 4 wheel drive, but not the front end loader, but I wish it did. It takes about 1 hour to do an acre, depending on how many obstacles (buildings, fences, steep hills, etc.). I love the tractor. I have a necking knob which comes in handy more often than I thought. It's a great tractor.

Really? Odd. You're a lot older then I am. That's what my grandpa and my father always called those spinner knobs on the steering wheels. What did y'all call them?

Realistically it would be two full size horses and a miniature for the first 5 years. Two horses and a little pony will keep it pretty mowed.
