This is tragic and yes there are PFDs on these boats I know because I went on one last year while my family was there for vacation. They did not make us wear the pfds but they were with in reach

Such a tragic accident, but I wouldn't be surprised if the company is held liable. There were indications for more storms to come during the evening. Just so terribly sad.....

Those ducks are deathtraps. They were designed for the military in WW2. They have zero flotation and go down like a rock. It amazes me they are legal to use a tour boats. Prayers for the victims.

The only time I have been on one....there were no windows. Seems like we would have been able to swim right out if there was trouble.
Cannot imagine how difficult it would be to get out of one with windows.

Whoever was driving that boat wasn't qualified in my opinion if they didn't immediately make everyone put on a life jacket. There's no excuse if they didn't.

Use to be some of those running around Hot Springs. Rode one out to Lake Hamilton and back once. Kinda like riding a bicycle with square wheels. They definitely could have used some updating. Prayers for all the victims.

Cannot imagine how difficult it would be to get out of one with windows. These appear to have hard roofs and windows that were closed, the video shows it struggling in the storm before it capsized.

I went on one in Branson MO when I was a kid. It was open with a roof but no windows... I was trying to figure out how so many died but If they were closed in then I can definitely see how it could happen. So sad..

So do we know if people were trapped with life jackets on? That's the first thing I would've been looking for when it got iffy. Course you get a boatload of inexperienced boaters and they are trusting the captain.

I know this is easy to say but I am not going to be trapped inside a boat with a life jacket on, actually when you think about it, it is not very smart to wear a jacket in those situations, just a bad deal all around.
