What and where to buy ?
seat threads failing from exposure to sun and weather.. though I might get lucky and be able to do a fair job reparing before they get way bad.

The NASA Space Program developed a thread for their use in the '70's that's super resistant to UV rays(which are really intense in the absence of atmosphere, space). Boat canvas and sail makers used it in Houston. It was very expensive then. Maybe it cheaper now? Maybe it was Nomex? It would add years to the life of stitched goods. Maybe Google can find it.
